How to Use
Using the Mideer Flower Press is a simple, multi-step process:
- Collect flowers and leaves from a garden or park, ideally letting them sit for an hour or two to reduce excess moisture.
- Arrange the specimens on the absorbent paper within the wooden press, making sure they do not overlap.
- Assemble the layers (board, paper, specimens, paper, cardboard, etc.) and place the top board on.
- Tighten the little knobs and nuts evenly until snug to apply pressure. This step also helps children practice hand-eye coordination.
- Wait patiently. For best results, leave the flowers in the press for one to two weeks, or longer for thicker flowers, to ensure they are fully dried and preserved.
